Mother: “Here’s why I’m sharing my daughter’s last moments on Facebook”
Zoey was only three years old when she was diagnosed with ca-ncer.
She grew up in a loving family and before ca-ncer struck, she was full of energy and always on the go, just like many other children.
She was sweet, playful and happy.
One day, Zoey fell while playing. A few weeks later, she lost power in both hands, according to CBS8.
The family knew something was wrong with Zoey and took her straight to the ho-spital.
When they arrived, they heard something they would never forget, a message they would carry in their souls forever.
The doctor told them that their dear daughter, full of life and love, had DIPG – a rare and aggressive brain t-umor.
“We didn’t know what to do, where to go.” They tell us it’s almost a de-ath sentence,” mother Casey told the Daily Mail.
The family would experience a tra-gedy and a ni-ghtmare they would never wish on their worst enemy.
But because of Zoey, they stuck together and tried to be strong. Over the next two years, Zoey would go through several treatments for her ca-ncer.
The family found a clinic in Germany where Zoe responded well to radiation treatment. But after a while she stopped answering.
She started to feel worse, faster. The unthinkable would happen.
Zoey passed away peacefully at her home in the United States on July 4, 2018.
Although her impending de-ath was naturally deva-stating to the family, her parents realized shortly before it happened that they would be able to share a few precious final moments together.
Until her final minutes, Zoey continued to spread joy. The parents asked all relatives and friends to come and see him before it was too late.
Now her mother has bravely decided to share the family’s last moment together on Facebook.
“I shared it because even though it’s a pai-nful moment, it’s a beautiful moment in our eyes,” Casey told the Daily Mail.

They sat on the couch with the family dog. They spent the day singing Disney songs. The Harry Potter movie is on TV. And in the middle of the peace, the quiet, Zoey suddenly disappeared.
About halfway through the movie, Zoey’s heart stopped beating.
“I’ve seen a few families share moments and at first I didn’t think I’d share it.” But I thought, “I want a picture like this to be taken.” I want those moments to be captured so I can remember them forever even when my brain is gone,” she told the Daily Mail.
On the Zoey’s Light Facebook page, the family now wants to spread the hope and light that Zoey brought to the world all those years before her death. They want Zoey to inspire others to help each other and to love themselves fully, with gratitude – an ordinary day.
What Cabe and Ben had to go through, no mother or father should ever have to go through.
Casey and Ben, you were the most amazing mom and dad ever. My prayers will continue forever. Zoey is now an angel watching over us all.
Rest in peace dear Zoey.
