This picture was taken in January of last year, and it shows my lovely wife getting ready to take the exam to become a Chief Petty Officer.
She was in a break between rounds of chemotherapy and was struggling with exhaustion, chemo brain, and chemo vomiting. She answered, “I prayed my way through the exam so it’s all in God’s hands.” When she arrived home, I asked her how she did, and she responded, “I prayed my way through the exam.”
Today, the Navy made public the results of the promotion examination for Chief Petty Officer, and her name was one of those chosen. For those of you who are unaware, her promotion to the position of Chief represents a significant turning point in her professional life.
I am bursting with pride for her! Even though she has had a challenging year, she has not given up the battle at any point.
She never wavered in her reliance on her religion. She never gave up. She is a genuine WINNER in the ring. I’d want to offer my congratulations, Chief Select. I am really happy for you and I love you so much! ♥️
