Soldier mom returns to surprise daughter at a Wisconsin football game. The life of military personnel is not very simple. They have to spend days away from home and their near and dear ones. Their lives are in constant danger, and they seldom get leaves from their duties.
However, the US Army captain recently thanked her stars that she was able to be a part of such a precious moment in her daughter’s life. Captain Jane Renee Jr. Lund was given permission to surprise her daughter Bella at Camp Randall in Madison, Wisconsin.
Captain Lund was a vet in the US Army Reserve. She was stationed in southern Afghanistan in Kandahar province for nearly six months. She arrived in the US a week ago and landed in Madison almost thirty hours ago.
Captain Lund was a native of Wausau, Wisconsin. She graduated from Stevens Point Veterinary School and received her master’s degree from Madison. She said she last saw her 13-year-old daughter in April, around her birthday.
Her unexpected meeting with her daughter was surreal for the US Army captain. She wanted to run to her daughter and grab her. Instead, she tried to make this moment special for Bella.
The announcer at the football game announced Bella’s name and revealed that she was an avid Badger fan. He also talked about Captain Lund so that viewers could get to know him better. The Wisconsin Badgers mascot then helped Bella wave to the crowd.
After a moment, when Bella turned to her mother, Captain Lund ran to her daughter. This sent Bella running to her mom. Captain Lund grabbed her daughter and lifted her up. It was a magical moment for the mother-daughter duo in front of 80,000 people in the stadium.
