Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Sing Brooks & Dunn’s ‘Neon Moon’ On ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’.
Coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson joined host Carson Daly for a performance prior to the start of The Voice’s 17th season. The rock band Extreme’s 1990 single “More Than Words” was performed by the group.
The coaches had little instrumental support, and the performance was private.
It was evident from that performance how well-coordinated the four coaches are. So they decided to plan another collaboration when Shelton, Stefani, and Legend all dropped by The Kelly Clarkson Show.
This time, the ensemble chose to sing “Neon Moon” by Brooks & Dunn, one of country music’s most recognizable tunes.
In 1991, “Neon Moon” by Brooks & Dunn was made available as a single from their debut album Brand New Man. Following its release, the song went on to dominate the country charts in both the United States and Canada.
The song was recently altered by the duo for their album Reboot, which includes altered versions of their most popular songs. They were joined by Kacey Musgraves for the song “Neon Moon,” and it received a ton of positive feedback.
Another performance that deserves praise is “Neon Moon” by The Voice coaches. The group performed the song as a part of The Kelly Clarkson Show’s “Kellyoke” segment, in which Clarkson covers songs by other artists and gives them her own unique touch.
Clarkson began the performance because it was her show, thus she was the one to do it. The other coaches gradually joined in, beginning with Shelton, followed by Stefani, and then Legend.
Before coming together to sing as a group, each coach had a brief opportunity to perform solo. Midway into their song, Daly entered the stage to join them, playing guitar as they carried on.
Check out the video below to hear the coaches perform “Neon Moon,” which was very beautiful. The four of them working together again is something we hope to see in the future!
