Hillis, who famously appeared on the cover of Madden NFL 12 in 2012, is currently aIive but remains in “critical condition” according to relatives. Greg Hillis, Peyton’s uncle, posted an update on his nephew’s condition on his personal Facebook page Wednesday, saying that despite how things look now, the former athlete is doing well.
“Just wanted to let everyone in Razorback Nation know that Peyton is doing better,” Greg Hillis posted.
“He is still in intensive care with kidney and lunch problems, but doctors say he is improving,” he continued. “I just wanted to prevent any rumors that might start.” I’m sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all the prayers that are offered in his name!!!”
Fox24 reporter Alyssa Orange posted additional details about the event that sent Hillis to intensive care, confirming that the event happened in Pensacola, Florida and that he was unconscious at the time.
“The family asks for prayers for him and a speedy recovery,” Orange said.
The Arkansas alum began his career in 2008 when he was selected by the Denver Broncos as a seventh-round pick. He was most notable for being an outstanding teammate with the Cleveland Browns a few years later. From there, he would eventually play for the Kansas City Chiefs for one season before ending his career with the New York Giants in 2015.
